- Embellished Beanie
An embellished beanie is an affordable and simple accessory that can worn anywhere! It’s also an easy Do-It-Yourself (DIY) project where you can express your creativity and individuality. You can purchase a basic beanie from your local store like Target or Walmart and get some jewels and bedazzle your headpiece!
- Plaid
Plaid is a men-inspired look but it’s extremely versatile in women’s fashion. You can pair a plaid shirt with fitted pants like Taylor Swift pictured below, or make a ultra-chic statement by pairing a plaid shirt with a feminine, sheer skirt and cape. Better yet, there’s nothing more cute and comfortable than pairing a plaid top with leggings and winter boots or a maxi skirt and fedora.
- Faux Fur
Faux Fur is hands-down my favorite trend for this winter season! I can’t wait to share my designs and make some beautiful pieces for you! Faux Fur can be styled as a vest or stole this season and it’s a great layering piece; it adds dimension to any outfit and keeps you warm.
- Ponchos/Capes
Outerwear is a challenge because it is difficult to be unique and stylish and also keep warm. Capes cover all of these points because they are extremely alluring, mysterious, and a stylish coat alternative. Likewise, inspired by the traditional South American poncho, the almost blanket-like piece features rich colors, luxurious fabrics, and is a key piece in this season’s play with layering and proportion. The trick to styling these types of ponchos is to modernize the rest of your outfit with plain neutrals or even pastels to add a little color.
- Fringe
Fringe is taking this season by storm! It isn’t limited to the classic 70’s leather jackets, but appearing on the hemlines of pencil skirts, i
t’s showing up as a print-like embellishment on sweaters, and it’s completely covering dresses.
- Denim
Denim is a staple in my closet and I’m happy to see that it isn’t going anywhere this season. Denim Skirts and Flare denim jeans are back in style Winter 2015/16.
