The following is an image from my home in which I transformed my basic wooden kitchen table and chairs. The original chairs were wooden with a glossy black finish. I painted each chair a matte black finish, added a cushion pad to each chair, and finished the chairs with a black & white horizontal print with gold dots. The table runner was self-drafted and custom fit to drape down the sides of the table:

My husband and I previously purchased a leather sectional and I couldn’t wait to stage the perfect scene for when guests walk through the door. Of course I wanted our front room to be comfortable and relaxing, but I also needed my couch to make a statement. A great friend of mine accompanied me as I searched for the perfect pillows. We searched tediously for the right color, pattern, and size. After what felt like a dozen stores I threw in the towel and said, “Forget it, I just won’t decorate with pillows on the couch.” Then I realized, if I can’t find what I want, why don’t I make it? So I took a trip to the fabric store and discovered these awesome fabrics!
